Chili Cheese Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil, divided
  • 1 cup of chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 14 ounce can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups of beef stock
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 package of Mountain View Meats Queso Dog Sausages
  • 5 hot dog buns
  • Chopped onions
  • Shredded cheese

 

Instructions:

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pot over med-high heat.

Add onion and garlic and cook until fragrantâ. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking up as it browns.

Add the chili powder, honey, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, and beef stock.

Stir to combine, bring to a simmer and partially cover.

Simmer on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally and breaking meat into small pieces.

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Add the Queso Dogs and brown all sides until heated through.

Stuff the hot dog buns with sausages, top with chili, and sprinkle on onion and cheese.
